JAX Tyres & Auto Tuggeranong franchisees Harry and Fiona Mildner are celebrating a decade of delivering trusted automotive services to the local community. 

Harry brings over 40 years of experience in the tyre industry, having worked across tyre fitting, sales, mechanical services, wheel alignments and store management. After working for several tyre companies, including a JAX Tyres & Auto, he saw franchising as an opportunity to build on his industry knowledge and deliver a comprehensive range of automotive services.  

For Fiona, the business marked a major career change after 32 years in the Australian Public Service. As equal owners, the couple have learnt to navigate the demands of running a business together, while raising their three daughters, building a strong foundation of trust that extends to their wider team. 

Harry Mildner, JAX Tyres & Auto Tuggeranong franchisee, says, “The industry has changed significantly over the past decade, and you have to be willing to adapt. What matters to us is understanding what each customer needs and helping them make the right decision for their vehicle. It’s really rewarding to see how much experience we’ve gained and the team we’ve built over the years.” 

As vehicle technology evolves, the Tuggeranong team continues to cater to a diverse range of drivers, from those purchasing tyres for traditional petrol and diesel vehicles to customers navigating the changing servicing needs of newer models, particularly electric and hybrid vehicles.  

Beyond the workshop, the business has maintained strong ties with local organisations. It has sponsored the Tuggeranong Valley Bushrangers Rugby League Club for four years, offering members discounts on automotive services, and supported Team Buzzy Bee in Camp Quality esCarpade for the past two years. The team has also sponsored the 9th Meteors’ Father’s Day Hot Rod Car Show, which raised funds for Bears of Hope, supporting families who have experienced the loss of a baby. 

Fiona Mildner says, “Being part of the local community is important to us, and we’re proud to support organisations that make a real difference to people’s lives. Reaching this milestone is a great opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved and look forward to what comes next.” 

Developing future automotive talent has been another key priority for the couple. One team member first joined the business as a teenager before returning years later and is now preparing to begin a mechanical apprenticeship, creating an opportunity to build on their existing experience and develop new skills.
