Pirelli Cinturato absolute leader: ADAC Tests 2010

The summer season 2010 starts for Pirelli with excellent results in the tests issued from ADAC, the largest German and European Automobile Club (more than 16 mln. members) and definitely the most prestigious and relevant association for the customers.

Pirelli Cinturato is on the top with both products (Cinturato P7 and Cinturato P6) confirming its leadership whether in terms of performance and safety or regarding the eco-compatibility targets demonstrating once again its leading values for the “Green Performance” philosophy.

Overview of the test results (published also from Swiss and Austrian automobile clubs TCS, OAMTC):
**** Very recommendable
*** Recommendable
** Moderately recommendable
* Not recommendable

As far as the “Green Performance” is concerned, Pirelli Cinturato P7 is the best of the test underlining the ability to meet the high performance level on wet and dry ground with top values in rolling resistance, noise and mileage.

This is the result of Green Performance approach that gives Pirelli a clear leading positioning in combining safety, performance and energy efficiency.

Size: 225/45R17 W/Y – relative weight for each performance used from ADAC to calculate the overall result

The Cinturato P6 confirms the leadership of the Cinturato Family.chart1.gif

Not only is the winner of test but is also the only product that can be placed in the Green Performance area. Looking at the graph, Michelin and Goodyear performed better in the green area but with poor results on wet if compared to all other premium products.

Another important aspect that we want to underline is once again the enormous difference between the premium brand tyres and the budget/import cheap tyres, in particular in terms of safety.

In fact, the wet braking distance difference between the best and the worst tyre is nearly 20 meters (more or less the length of 5 medium/small segment cars; data referring to size: 185/65R15).
