Mark Hely owns and runs the long-standing Kensington store. Having worked overseas for 15 years establishing new businesses throughout South-East Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, Mark returned to Australia to take on the international management of one of Australia's oldest family wineries for a further 3 years.

It was during the last 3 years that Mark started to look for a venture that would keep him at home more. He looked for a business where he could bring his management and customer service skills to the forefront. It was positive experiences with JAX as a customer that led him to the Kensington store. The strength of the support system and expertise convinced Mark to take on the opportunity.

As Mark puts it, “I have been fortunate throughout my career to work in many different businesses across the globe. One thing that differentiated many of the successful businesses was the integrity under which they operated. Integrity takes a lifetime to build but can be lost easily. JAX has these qualities and I want to ensure we continue to deal in the same manner at Kensington. Exceeding customer expectations is the goal with every interaction.”

The long-term customers would have noticed the changes in the store over the last year which involved an extensive renovation and upgrade to the workshop, tyre fitting equipment and alignment equipment. The reception, like the rest of the store, is compact with a small waiting area and free Wi-Fi. New after hours pick-up and drop-off facilities have been installed to reflect the needs of our customers.

The friendly staff are still spearheaded by Steve who has been working at the store for nearly 20 years. In addition to Steve, Kensington also has two mechanics with over 40 years’ experience and a wheel alignment technician. Greek and Arabic are fluent in the store whilst Mark also speaks a little Thai, Vietnamese and Russian.

Outside of work Mark and his family enjoy attending sports and boating. They have a rescue greyhound called Lottie that can be found most days curled up asleep in the office. The store is naturally dog friendly as Mark understands that four-legged family members' needs are important.
