We initially went to the Edwardstown store to ask if they could do my front tyres as we had to drive back to Melbourne. They had no availability but gave us all the advice we needed, then called the Gilles Plains location for us and got us in there. That store were happy to help us on the spot, gave us a good deal and also flagged another issue with the car that needs repairs. The whole process was quick, friendly, helpful and very affordable. There was no pushing to spend more money but all options were presented to us with explanation of the price points. Overall fantastic customer service.

Bought tyres and fitted here, week later when I was about to wash the car I noticed scratches at the wheels, it's not major like in the edge of the rim. Called them up and they said the marks are unavoidable, they did offer to cover up the scratches with touch up paint, i declined and decided not to continue with this matter. TLDR: great value when tyres are on sale, if you care about your wheels and car, should probably tyres fitted elsewhere.... EDIT: as of this post wheels are getting reevaluated by them EDIT 2: after a long journey, the wheels have been repainted with no issues, and content with the outcome

They fitted a new set of tyres on my Wrangler and did a great job of the fitting, balancing and a perfect wheel alignment. I had previously had a puncture repaired, which was done promptly while I waited. I will definitely use them again.

The team there was fantastic. Professional, friendly and practical in their solutions. I initially went there and Adele on the front desk went out of her way to help me with a numberplate issue (was registering the car and couldn't remove the old anti-theft screws). She walked me next door to seek advice and then helped me remove them while on-site. I returned a week later with my car for some radio issues and they resolved the problem. Going to great lengths to ensure it was working without charging me for excess labour. Adele kept me in the loop the whole journey. I'd actually arrived slightly early that morning and another member of staff held conversation with me and made me coffee until others arrived. I am now trying to find things wrong with my car so I can have an excuse to go back and provide them more of my business. I think the front struts are next.

If you are looking for a mechanic that is honest and really aims to solve your problem with excellent customer service, they are the guy. Before finding Jax Gilles Plains I have already spent $750 with 2 different mechanics for one problem. The following day after fixing that problem I got another issue, which was quite suspicious for me. As a result I paid another $100 to have a check but the mechanic couldn’t be sure what the cause was yet quoted me another $350 to probably fix it. It became to make sense to get a second opinion. I’ve tried to call many mechanics near my home and they either sounded even more sus or just told me they didn’t do such kind of job. Finally I contacted Jax by email (their phone number doesn’t seem to work) and I got very prompt replies from them. I took my car to them the next day to have an inspection. After a couple of hours I was told the cause of the issue and had it fixed straight away with a much lower price. (The cause they found was a different one suggested by my previous mechanic who quoted me $350). I have given my car a few days to see if it would keep smooth without any issues. So far it is VERY SMOOTH, so I decided to give them a 5-star because they deserve it. Please keep up the good work and I’ll be your loyal customer. Side note: previously I had had them to replace my tyres as they were the most affordable that I could find; then I once popped up there to ask them to check a signal issue and they found it out in no time without charging me anything. Hence I can assure that they are the friendliest mechanic in town.

A great operation run by Nik. He is warm and genuine. I have found you can trust his advice. Unlike many other tyre retailers, JAX Gilles Plains has on hand a wide range of brands so you have genuine choice, without having to wait for something to be ordered in. I should also add that there is no hard sell - no attempt to push you onto a more expensive brand or to have work done that you did not come in for. And there is a very knowledgeable young lady on the front counter (Adele), so women of all ages should feel comfortable going there.

Original Equipment tyre sizes shown in search results for particular vehicles are determined based on the best information currently available to us from vehicle manufacturers and from manual inspection of new vehicles as they are released. Many vehicles have optional trim levels/packages that include different tyre sizes. This Additional Model Info is listed for you to choose from in search results as well.
Since variations based on options or vehicle manufacturer changes may determine the Original Equipment tyre size on your vehicle, always verify the size you are purchasing matches the tyre size for your vehicle, usually found on the placard located inside the driver’s door, glove box or fuel cap, or in the Owner's Manual.
