Goodyear & Dunlop fit to show stoppers at Sydney Motor Show

Each year more than a quarter of a million people turn out to the Sydney Motor Show held at Darling Harbour. Over its 90-year history the show has evolved to meet the changing expectations of motorists and the advances of modern technology. This year more than one million new motor vehicles will be sold in Australia - one of the highest rates of new car purchases anywhere in the world.

In 2007 Toyota enjoyed a sports-themed tent, Volkswagen dominated the new Pavilion and Holden celebrated HSV's 20th anniversary of Australian car production. Heading the high performance list were BMW's futuristic V12-engined concept car, Maserati's glamorous GranTourismo coupe and Ferrari's F430 gave the show that wow factor. Goodyear and Dunlop
were paraded on some of the top marques at the show.

The new Ford Cobra was a crowd pleaser which paid homage to a highly-respected predecessor and was fitted with 245/35 19 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx. Toyota's locally designed and built TRD Aurion, regarded as the most powerful Toyota ever seen was fit with 245/45 19 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx and one of the most eagerly awaited offroaders, Toyota's Land Cruiser 200 was fit with 285/65 17 Dunlop GrandTrek AT2.

Goodyear enjoyed strong fitment on Jeep with Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs fit to the new Jeep Rubicon and 245/50 20 Goodyear Eagle RSA's fit to the Dodge Nitro. Goodyear also enjoyed strong fitment on Land Rover and Ford with Dunlop fitted to much of the Toyota and FPV high performance ranges.

"For us this is good news with our Original Equipment Director Sandy Cameron and the OE team developing great relationships with key OE accounts in particularly Ford," explains Judith Swales, Managing Director & CEO, SPT. "We enjoy 100% fitment on all locally made Ford and Mitsubishi here in Australia as well as significant presence on Toyota. We were also recently selected as a supplier for the Pontiac G8 4 door sedan and are looking forward to the release of a new Ford line-up in the first half of 2008. This represents exciting times ahead for the OE business."

"Our Original Equipment customers are an integral part of the business and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to develop these relationships and secure this business. Motor Shows are one place you can see the fruits of this labour with Goodyear and Dunlop fitment on top vehicles throughout the show which is attended by a quarter of a million visitors."
