McKenna Gearing up for Earth Trek 08
Artist/photographer Richard McKenna is all set for his next Earth Trek Photographic Expedition, this time hitting the Northern Territory in a Toyota Hilux fitted with Goodyear Silent Armor tyres.
As part of Earth Trek 08, Wild Capture, Richard's photographic business, will depart Melbourne to photograph wildlife in arid and wilderness regions of Australia. The Earth Trek expedition will explore specific locations in the Northern Territory and South Australia, including: the Gibson Desert, Ormiston Gorge, Finke Gorge, Lake Frome and Arkaroola.
Using a fully modified and equipped 07 Toyota Hilux, the expedition will engage some unique outback locations with unforgiving landscape.
Richard McKenna is one of Australia's progressive natural history photographers. His photographic explorations of extreme wilderness regions has resulted in a collection of some of the finest examples of natural history imagery.
"Good vehicle preparation is essential before a major 4-wheel drive expeditions. We have chosen the Goodyear Silent Armor and MTR tyres for their resilience to harsh 4WD tracks and their outstanding road holding performance," explains Richard McKenna.
"The Silent Armor's and MTR's were used on our 07 trek Kimberley/Pilbara trek. These tyres took on some off the harshest roads we have encountered. Everything from harsh stone and shale pitted sections to the worst corrugations east of the Mitchell Falls. The rubber compound of these tyres held up to extreme conditions and displayed very little chipping on the tread. The compound displayed grip in wet conditions but was still strong enough to engage dry, rough sections.".
