Dunlop continues as preferred tyre supplier to Australian Superbike Championship into the 2009 Season
Frontline Media Group (FMG), promoters of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) are pleased to announce that Dunlop will continue to be the preferred supplier for the 2009 season.
FMG in conjunction with MA will continue with the 2nd year of a two year arrangement for the tyre supply to selected categories of the Australian Superbike Championship.
Jose van den Dungen, FMG's Event Director said - "Dunlop have supported motorcycle racing in Australia since the early 1900s. Much may have changed since their introduction into Australian Motorsport, but their passion for racing, performance and development remains the same."
The single tyre rule will continue to apply to the Superstock 1000 and 600s as well as the FZ6 Masters.
Ken Wieden of Dunlop Australia said - 'Dunlop is about racing and we at Dunlop are extremely excited to be involved with FMG and its plans for the 2009 Australian Superbike Championship. This series is an important event for us and our involvement in Australian road racing allows us to continually develop and upgrade the products we market.
In addition to providing and servicing the single tyre categories, Dunlop, in conjunction with FMG, have pieced together a development program for privateer Supersport and Superbike racers who choose to compete on Dunlop product.'
Ken Wieden went on to say - 'The highest place Supersport and Superbike privateer at each round will win a set of tyres. This is small way of showing our appreciation to the riders whoremain loyal to our product. Dunlop will also continue to provide trackside support, fitment and technical advice at each round'.
