Dunlop:Here and Now with John Bowe
"This month I was part of a group that was the first in Australia outside the Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres testing department to trial the new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT passenger road tyre and I tell you what, they are really something else! The technological advances that Goodyear and Dunlop are continually making never cease to amaze me.
I have had involvement in some form or another with the Ford factory since 1994 in the development of their performance vehicles, initially through Tickford and more recently through Prodrive/FPV, and have seen how aspects such as tyres have advanced over the years.
I remember when Dunlop's SP9000 range was first introduced to the AU Falcon and the progress this tyre made, and then even more so when the current SP Sport Maxx was launched in the BA/BF.
Now the next evolution SP Sport Maxx TT and GT range, which are currently being tested for the next model FPVs, will be available in June this year ahead of a consumer launch at the Dunlop Townsville 400 in July. If you are looking for the ultimate in ultra high performance you should definitely check these out!
I don't want to give too much away prior to the launch, however there are a number features on Dunlop's new flagship range such as an asymmetric tread design, a motorsport derived compound and the use of Kevlar® in its construction, which all contribute to a really impressive piece of rubber.
I have never been able to feel the road when driving before like I could with these tyres and the wet and dry handling, as well as enhanced cornering and high-speed stability are amazing. Pure driving enjoyment! Dunlop has really bought the performance tyre to another level with these beauties"
