Dunlop Grandtrek offers new level of driving pleasure to 4WD market
Dunlop, a world leading manufacturer of high and ultra-high performance tyres, has created a 4WD tyre that combines Dunlop's advanced passenger tyre technologies with superior off-road features. To design and manufacture high performance tyres, Dunlop incorporates its motorsport technologies, tyre performance standards and testing facilities similar to that used to manufacture its V8 Supercar Championship control tyre.
This "race-to-road" design method has resulted in on-road success with the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx winning the 2007 Wheels' Tyre Test and Dunlop is now confident that this will translate into off-road success through the new Dunlop Grandtrek AT3.
Glenn Cross, Dunlop Product Manager, said that excellent grip and high-speed handling are what enthusiastic drivers expect from Dunlop tyres but the Dunlop Grand Trek AT3 combines these benefits with the superior off-road traction and low noise levels sought by 4WD drivers.
Our heritage and success in Motorsport allows us to produce best-in-class tyres for the Australian high performance and off-road markets," Mr Cross said. "Whether you're cruising down the highway or tackling a rocky mountain climb, Dunlop's new Grandtrek AT3 is Japanese engineered and tested in tough Australian conditions for dual environmental performance and driver experience."
This newly engineered and much improved Dunlop Grandtrek AT3 has superseded the Grandtrek AT2, launching a new era in tyre performance centred on driving enjoyment. It has also been approved by Toyota as an official after market dealer fitted tyre option.
- Three main straight grooves
Ensuring outstanding performance in the wet and high speed stability for a smoother ride.
- Long lateral groove
Providing excellent aqua plaining performance.
- Straight centre rib with block
Delivering superior high speed handling performance.
- 2 in 1 shoulder block pattern
Ensuring low noise for a quieter ride and high traction on and off the road.
"We are confident that this new tyre featuring the latest in tyre technology will stand out in the market because of its broad appeal and performance capability in the most diverse of conditions. It is as surefooted on the highway as it is off the beaten track.
"This is the ultimate all round 4WD tyre for the majority of 4WD vehicles, which complements Dunlop's suite of 4x4 OE fitments and is currently available in 23 sizes," explains Cross.
The new Grandtrek AT3 is Dunlop's flagship all-terrain tyre
Whether you're cruising down a highway or tackling a rocky mountain climb, Dunlop's new Grandtrek AT3 is engineered for dual environment performance and driver experience. Leveraging the latest Japanese technology, the much improved Grandtrek AT3, which supersedes the Grandtrek AT2, launches a new era in tyre performance.
This all-terrain 4WD tyre delivers even greater high speed stability, outstanding wet weather performance, superior off road traction and low noise levels for the ultimate in rider comfort. These qualities combine to ensure the Grandtrek AT3 is as surefooted on the highway as it is off the beaten track. It has also been approved by Toyota as an official after market dealer fitted tyre option, making it the ultimate all round 4WD tyre.
To maintain optimum tread shape under high speed operating conditions, the AT3 has a 1 edge band or a full band on the steel belts (depending on tyre size). This is a design improvement reflecting the AT3's higher speed capacity compared to the AT2.
The contact pressure of the AT3 is distributed more evenly because of the F.T.P (Flat Tread Profile). This means that the AT3 has an advantage on even wear performance, so your tyres will last longer.
