Goodyear Wrangler just the job for Audi's Trans-Continental Crossing
Audi's prominent Trans-Continental Crossing was successfully completed on Monday 24 September 2007 in Broome, WA.
The launch event saw 15 of Audi's new Q7 SUVs all on Goodyear Wrangler AT/R tyres depart from Sydney on Thursday 30 August 2007, on a three week, 7,000km journey across the Australian continent from east (Sydney) to west (Broome).
An industry first for the launch of a new vehicle, the Q7 Trans-Continental Crossing took in a mix of some of Australia's legendary outback tracks, spectacular scenery and famous landmarks - an ideal test of the endurance and performance of this brand new luxury SUV.
All 15 Q7's arrived safely in Broome on Sunday 24 September 2007 in excellent condition and Audi's General Manager, Corporate Communications, Anna Burgdorf praised the performance of the Goodyear AT/Rs:
"In spite of some very challenging terrain around areas like Innamincka and Birdsville where sharp, stony tracks are common, and areas of the
Kimberley where the roads were challenging to say the least, considering the Goodyear Wrangler AT/R is not a dedicated off road tyre, we were extremely happy with its performance."
