Castle Hill upgrade - Service Builds the Business

A commitment to customer service has led two Sydney businessmen to update every machine in their workshop to ensure their clients receive the best of care.

State-of-the-art technology at the Castle Hill store

Daniel Dalton and Rob Baggiossi are partners in the Castle Hill branch of JAX Tyres, a business they took over in September last year and have completely turned around.

"We've brought it from the 18th century into the 21st century and the regular customers can't help but comment on the difference," laughs Daniel.

"We've replaced every single piece of machinery with state-of-the-art technology. It makes it easier for us to do our job because everything is more efficient, and that means we can give customers better service."

"One example is the wheel alignment machine. It's a $30,000 machine that operates through radio frequency - it can almost make a cup of coffee while the wheels are being aligned!"

"But while it is obviously a major investment, Rob and I believe you need to have the best machinery to give the best service and providing quality service to our customers is what keeps us in business."

Daniel started in the tyre industry 13 years ago and is passionate about helping people by simplifying what can be a very confusing decision for them.

"My wife says I talk about round black things in my sleep, which is a bit of a worry, but I really enjoy what I do.

"Everyone has a budget. I like working with customers to ensure they get the best value for their money. It's not about cheap tyres. It's about making sure the customer drives away on safe tyres, the best quality they can afford.

"Being part of a trusted group like JAX Tyres means the company's buying power allows us to provide our customers with the best tyres at the best prices."

Daniel and Rob each have a long history with JAX Tyres, previously in service and management roles. They met while working together and when the chance to take over the Castle Hill store came up last year, it didn't take long to decide this was the direction they wanted to go in.

Rob has had 20 years' mechanical experience prior to this venture and, coupled with Daniel's background in wheels and tyres, means the partnership provides a perfect blend of skills and expertise in a one-stop-shop, offering tyres, wheels, brakes, suspension and all mechanical repairs.

Backed by seven experienced staff, Daniel and Rob each put six days a week into their business but say the return on their investment and efforts - and the increase in happy clients - makes their work extremely satisfying.

A six-day working week doesn't allow for much time off, though, and both men enjoy the spare day spending time with their young families. Daniel also enjoys the chance to get out on the golf course - "especially the 19th hole!"

JAX Tyres in Castle Hill is part of the east coast network of 72 stores, servicing customer needs from Cairns to Tasmania.
JAX Tyres stocks the world's leading tyre brands including Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear, Michelin, and Pirelli. It also carries a wide range of top-line alloy and steel wheels, as well as providing a variety of other mechanical services such as brakes and suspension.
